Program Summary:

We will explore practical strategies and tools designed to effectively navigate and resolve conflicts for smoother project execution and enhanced team cohesion. Participants will gain insights into identifying the root causes of conflict, employing de-escalation techniques, and facilitating crucial conversations. A key aspect of this course is the application of the Socratic Method, a technique designed to foster in-depth dialogue and effective problem-solving. By encouraging participants to ask incisive and reflective questions, this approach facilitates a deeper understanding of conflicts and the exploration of innovative solutions. The materials presented underscore the benefits of separating facts from emotional responses and adopting the mindset of choosing not to be offended. Such approaches are instrumental in ensuring discussions remain focused, objective, and productive. Furthermore, the course highlights the critical role of aligning individual, team, and stakeholder interests to not only meet shared objectives but also to accommodate diverse agendas. By addressing everyone’s wants and needs, all parties will be more likely to accept, and stick with, the agreed upon resolution. Learning Objectives - At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Gain an understanding of fundamental methods to manage and resolve conflict with crucial conversations, focusing on identifying root causes, applying effective de-escalation strategies, and aligning interests.
  2. Identify ways to resolve conflict and achieve aligned goals by applying the ideas shared in the session. Key Takeaways - Participants will walk away with practical strategies that can be used right away to resolve conflicts, improve team dynamics, and achieve better project outcomes.
