Feb. 2019 Chapter Dinner Meeting: "Because Communication Isn't Optional" (2 PDU's)

Presentation by Julie McLean

Part 1: Understanding Your Communication Style

Your communication style impacts your professional and/or personal relationships It is important to understand different communication styles. Tonight we will

  • Identify your preferred communication style.
  • Recognize how your communication style may impact your interactions.
  • Determine how to improve your relationships by mastering and adapting your application of communication styles based on the situation.
  • Understand how to tailor your style to match situational expectations.

Part 2: Conflict Resolution

Once you understand your communication style, conflict resolution is much easier. Tonight we will explore the steps necessary to keep conflict positive and a learning experience.

Communication is consistently cited as a key factor in project success (or failure), so all PM's can benefit from getting insights from Julie. Feel free to invite your friends and colleagues who also might benefit from joining as we welcome non-members to all Chapter Events!

This session is worth two (2) PDU's: 1 for Leadership and 1 for Strategic. PDU's can be claimed by logging them via PMI.org after the event. See our website for details and links to more info.
