Dinner Meeting (2 PDU - Technical)
Project Management Demystified
Presented By Dr. BIll Carswell, PMP
Studying and making sense of the 550+ page PMI Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) can be a bit intimidating. So come learn Dr. Carsewell's approach which uses seven basic processes that are PMBOK-based and apply to all projects large and small.
About the Speaker
Dr. Bill Carswell, PMP has been a project manager for more than 20 years in defense contracting, NASA contracting, academic, small business, research, manufacturing and non-profit environments. He is currently an Adjunct Professor of Project Management at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a Principal Research Scientist at the University of Alabama conducting energy research, and the Executive Director of the non-profit Energy Huntsville.
With a Ph.D. in Materials Science, he started building crystal growth experiments for the space shuttle in 1987. In 16 years his team successfully built and flew 4 space shuttle crystal growth experiments. Then he began working on border security projects in the United States and the Middle East, was director of programs for an imaging technology company, and has managed two renewable energy programs. Most recently, Dr. Carswell tired of looking for a good book with which to teach project management so he wrote his own, “The 7-Step Project Manager.” Please feel free to connect with him on LinkedIn and read his project management and energy posts.
