Melissa is a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience delivering successful outcomes in the insurance industry. Her technical and business expertise is a result of holding various positions throughout her 18 years at Citizens Property Insurance, including Project Manager for the Quality Improvement team, Agile Program Management team, and her current role on the Learning and Development team.
Melissa is currently serving her first term as the Vice President of Career Networking for PMI Northeast Florida Chapter. Her objective is to connect and enable members to find exciting career opportunities. Previously, she served as the Director of Networking Events for over two years, where she supported Regional Coordinators in providing networking events that brought together professionals for knowledge sharing.
In addition to her wealth of experience, Melissa holds several certifications that include Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Enterprise Business Agility Strategist (EBAS), Professional Agile Leadership (PAL I), and ICAgile Certified Professional in Business Agility Foundations (ICP-BAF).

Kristy Smith, PMI Northeast Florida Director of Career Empowerment
As the Director of Career Development for the PMI-NEFL Chapter, Kristy plays a pivotal role in empowering individuals to make well-informed career decisions, create personalized career plans, and foster skill development and networking opportunities. With over 27 years in Technical Program & Project Management, a PMP certification for almost 21 years, a Master’s in Leadership, and a Bachelor’s in Business/Management, she brings a wealth of knowledge and methodologies, ensuring her expertise in career development is unparalleled.
As the current Director of the Program Management Office at Boldyn Networks, Kristy is a champion of operational efficiency, strategic program management, and innovative connectivity solutions. Her 18-year tenure at AT&T, where she held roles such as Director/Area Manager of Technical Project/Program Management and Principal Technical Project/Program Manager, instilled in her a deep understanding of managing programs with budgets up to $400 million and achieving significant cost savings.
Kristy’s leadership extends beyond her professional roles to her service on the Women of AT&T National Board of Directors, which impacted over 27,000 members. She has held roles such as Regional President Southeast and Chief Financial Officer and contributed to the Women of AT&T Florida-Puerto Rico Chapter as VP of Community Outreach and Director of Communications. Her dedication to mentoring, speaking engagements, and supporting women and business professionals is not just evident, but inspiring, through her extensive volunteer work and recognition with the President’s Volunteer Service Award for six consecutive years.
