Kevin Johns is a Jacksonville native and joined the USAF in 1978 right out of high school and retired (#1) in 1995 as a Master Sergeant (E-7). He joined Barnett Bank the next day and ultimately retired (#2) in 2012 from Bank of America after 17-years. In 2012 he joined LPS which ultimately became Dark Matter Technologies, retiring (#3) in June 2024. Third time was indeed a charm. Married to Rhonda in 1980, they have a dog Sugar, 2 grown kids, and 4 grands, ranging in age from 13 down to 2-years-old. Kevin earned a Master’s Degree in Management from FSU in 1995, and his PMP (via this chapter’s study group) in 2008. Cory Shrader Bio Cory Shrader is a dynamic professional with a diverse background that spans multiple industries. Originally from South Florida with roots in Chicago, Cory’s journey has taken him through many different fields. He began his career at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School, which led to him managing the top two kitchens at Planet Hollywood for four years.

Cory Shrader is a dynamic professional with a diverse background that spans multiple industries. Originally from South Florida with roots in Chicago, Cory’s journey has taken him through many different fields. He began his career at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School, which led to him managing the top two kitchens at Planet Hollywood for four years.
Afterward, he shifted gears and founded Appraisals by Cory, a residential appraising business that he successfully ran for a decade. During this time, Cory also joined Fidelity Investments, where he worked for 10 years. His passion for finance led him to earn his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 2010, followed by his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2018 and Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation in 2020.
In March 2021, Cory took a significant step and founded Black Creek Wealth Management, an investment management, trading, and wealth planning firm. His firm specializes in providing one-on-one, personalized services to help clients achieve their financial goals quickly and safely, drawing on his more than two decades of experience in real estate, investing, trading, and wealth planning. He runs two free educational VLOGS serving different audiences; Elevate Your Investments (advanced) and Simple Smart Investing (beginner).
Outside of his professional endeavors, Cory is married to Melissa and they have two children, two Labradors, and a cat. He's also passionate about his 125-gallon mixed reef saltwater tank. For over 20 years,
Cory has been an avid ice hockey player in Jacksonville, showing his commitment to both physical activity and team sports. Cory's well-rounded background, from culinary expertise to financial acumen, showcases his adaptability, dedication, and ability to build lasting, meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
