Greetings and Salutations!
The November Chapter meeting lands on Veterans Day this year. As a USAF vet (as well as married to a USAF vet), this is a very special time of year. We are honored to recognize those who serve and have served. Freedom is not free. Please join us on Nov 12th to celebrate.
PMI requires that each chapter review its By Laws periodically. Your Board of Directors has recently completed this review. Proposed changes have been reviewed by PMI and are reflected in the 2018 Chapter By Laws document. The next step in the process is for the Chapter Membership to approve the updated document. In the next few weeks you will receive an electronic ballot from PMI. Please signify your approval by completing the ballot when it arrives.
By Laws - Significant Changes
The Chapter Annual meeting will be held in conjunction with the December Holiday Social on Dec 10. I look forward to seeing you at soon.
John M. Luker, MS, PMP, MCTS, PEM
Thanks to those who were able to join us on Oct. 22nd New Member Orientation. Over 30 of our members who joined the chapter in 2018 shared an evening with PMI-NEFL Board Members to network, enjoy apps & drinks and learn more about what being part of the Chapter has to offer. The event was held at Maggiano's at Town Center, and we look forward to hosting this type of event in the future!
In honor of Veteran's Day, our Nov. 12th event will feature Timothy D. Kornacki, Major USMC (Ret.) from For Their Honor with a session focused on military transition into the civilian workforce in the field of Project/Program Management.
For Their Honor’s mission is to enable and produce the most prepared and transitioned Veterans that will be successful both personally and professionally. We will also have a panel discussion on the value that Veterans bring to not only the Program/Project Management domain but the civilian workforce over all. We will debunk misunderstandings, educate and raise awareness while enabling corporate leaders to tap into a tremendous resource. Active and retired military receive an additional $5 discount by using the coupon code "Honor2018" when registering for the event. Early registration discount ends 11/08.
Presented by Eric Rakov, PMP, CSM, SAFe Agilist
