Michelle joined the PMI NEFL chapter in 2016, and served as Membership VP for three years and was recently voted into her current role, President-Elect. She is a Program Manager at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield where she celebrated 30 years of employment in 2026. She has worked in the project management field for more than 15 years with a primary focus in operations. Michelle obtained her PMP Certification in 2018.

She volunteers at her church, Chet's Creek, teaching fourth grade. As well as serves on the Board of Directors for the Marshall University Alumni Chapter in NE FL. 

She enjoys the beach, watching Hallmark movies and walking her dog Simba!

Where I work: My career has been in manufacturing and rail transportation, the last 38 years with CSX Transportation and its predecessors until retirement in 2015. My headquarters were in Baltimore, Jacksonville, and Chicago. Assignments included creating Lean training and coaching project managers; project management training; train accident prevention training and investigation; improving train velocity with New Orleans railroads; and process improvement projects with a Tampa customer, Savannah Signal Shop, Richmond Roadway Equipment shop, and contract employee hiring.

 

About Me: My wife and I enjoy world-wide travel, and follow the Jaguars in Jacksonville and London. I volunteered for church boards in 3 cities and serve on the PMI chapter board. Hobbies include photography, golf, and physical fitness.

 

Credentials: Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and MBA from University of Minnesota. PMP in 2009. Certified as a Professional Engineer, Six Sigma Master Belt, and Lean Leader.

About Me: I have been in project management for over 40 years.  I began my career in the Defense and Space Industry, then moved into Logistics and Transportation.  Some interesting projects that I have worked on:  F15 and F16 aircraft test equipment, new semiconductor generations, the international space station, bringing of assets back from Iraq for the USMC, and new IT project implementations for financial, HR and operational customers.

I have been actively engaged with the local chapter since 2008.  I have held the following positions:  Treasurer, President, Past President, Director of Education and for a second term set President and Past President.  PMP certifications have been my passion.  Once receiving my PMP with a chapter study group, I have helped over 150 students' study and receive there PMPs.

Where I work/ What I do:  I recently retired from a Portfolio Management position with Yusen Logistics.  I am an adjunct professor with UNF where I teach PMP and CAPM classes.

Outside of work, I coach my son's recreation soccer team and play in an adult league as often as I can. When I am not at work, I enjoy traveling, getting outside at the beach or on a hike, doing activities with my dog, or getting a good workout in. I have enjoyed the opportunity to live a few different places across the US and happy to call Jacksonville home for the nice weather and proximity to the beach.

I am an enterprise and systems architect at Lockheed Martin focused on transforming complex engineering groups through digital engineering, enterprise architecture, and data-driven technologies.
