Have you been studying, but just need that final boost? Our Weekly Study Group meets virtually on Thursdays from 6pm-8pm. PMI NEFL's PMP Study Group is designed to help students pass the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP®) exam.
Classes run 14 weeks and leverage the PMBOK 7th ed and Rita Mulcahy’s PMP Exam Prep materials. We have an excellent pass rate.
The course is based on the ten Knowledge Areas and the five Processes of the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide 7th ed.).

Tom Henkel, PMI NEFL VP, Education, is a full-time faculty associate professor assigned to the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) Worldwide College of Business.
Tom holds a Bachelor's Degree in Personnel Management; a Master of Science Degree in Personnel Management; a Master of Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University; a Doctorate in Adult Education and a Doctorate in Business Administration.
Cheryl has been in Project Management for over 25 years and has been in Jacksonville, FL, for 10 years. Her project management experiences include the Military, Aerospace and Defense, Logistics 3PL, and Information Technology.
Cheryl has a Bachelors in Management and an MBA. She earned her PMP in 2000 and again in 2011. She earned the PMI-ACP certificate in Oct 2013 following an educational event held by PMI-NEFL. Cheryl has facilitated the NEFL PMP Study Group since 2011. Over 400 attendees have registered for the sessions, and 110 have taken the exam with a 91% passing rate.
Kevin earned his PMP certification through the PMI-NEFL chapter study group in 2008 and wants to “pay it forward” for the next group of future PMPs. Kevin has over 20-year’s experience in multiple facets of IT/ technology project management including the US Air Force, Barnett Bank through to Bank of America, and most recently at Black Knight Financial Services.(formerly LPS).
He has implemented technology projects in e-Commerce, credit cards, mortgage servicing, and mortgage originations, along with roles in communications, strategic planning, and setting up and managing a portfolio PMO of 28 initiatives. Kevin has a BSBA from Mount Olive College and a MS in Management from Florida State University. He earned his PMP certification in 2008 and is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt.
Ken Perry is a Certified Project Management Professional who practices project management daily at Landstar System Inc. and trains professionals on project management and project leadership most recently at the University of North Florida. Ken’s work experience provides real-world insights into the connection between employee behavior and bottom-line project results.
He has managed projects for Landstar, Bank of America, Blue Cross, Convergys, Citi and AT&T. He is currently the president of the local chapter of the International Institute of Business Analysis and a past president of the local chapter of The Project Management Institute.
Strategist, lean change agent with strong cross functional experience in operations, cost reduction, team building, and information management and Project Management in various areas – Supply Chain, Transportation, and BPO industries. Worked on various enterprise wide implementations, transformation, and IT projects.
I wanted to give back to the community and am proud to be part of this Chapter.
Victoria has been in Project Management for over 15 years primarily in local government. Her project management experiences include the Local Government Emergency Response agencies and Law Enforcement.
Victoria has Masters in Public Administration. She earned her PMP in 2018. Victoria has participated as an instructor for the NEFL PMP Study Group since 2018. Victoria is currently employed as the E911 Supervisor and IT Project Supervisor for a Florida law enforcement agency.
Rashed has been in Accounting, Finance and Project Management field over 14 years. His project management experiences in BRESL-UNDP Bangladesh (Energy Saving Regional Project). Currently, he is working at Farm Credit of Florida as a Loan Accountant.
Rashed Certified PMP in 2020, earned MBA in 2016 and Graduate Certification in Project Management (GCPM) in 2015, he also participated PMI-NEFL chapter study group in 2016 and wants to “PAY IT FORWARD” for the next group of future PMPs
Tom is an active Project Management practitioner with over 28 years of experience delivering successful programs and projects across several diverse industries. After an interesting Army career that included Program Management assignments with Manpower and Training at the Pentagon, Tom delivered projects as a PM consultant ranging from Environmental Engineering, Automotive Manufacturing, Automobile and Life Insurance, and Biomedical (US Red Cross).
He then specialized in IT projects supporting retail operations for H-E-B Grocery in San Antonio, TX, and then Stein Mart® here in Jacksonville. Tom is also a skilled PMP Certification trainer with the PMI Michigan Thumb Chapter, the San Antonio PMI Chapter, and now the NEFL Chapter. He taught the iCertGlobal PMP Boot Camp week-long course (2019-2020). Tom and Sally, his wife, enjoy US National Parks, cycling, and visiting family.
