History: PMI has increased their focus on requirements and business analysis as a result of 2014 research that identified poor requirements as a major cause of project failures.
In 2015, PMI released its first standard focused on business analysis Business Analysis for Practitioners: A Practice Guide. The industry embraced the practice guide with over 65,000 downloads, but wanted more.
