Want to avoid this extra step? Sign-up forauto-renewal.

Remember, your local chapter membership provides the discounts for events, monthly development meetings and networking opportunities here on theFirst Coast. You will need to manually add your Northeast Florida chapter membership to your cart. See Become a Member for more information.

On PMI.Org, under Membership, simply naviagate to Chapter Memberships, search and select “Northeast Florida Chapter” and continue to checkout. This process will be done annually in conjunction with your PMI.Org membership renewal date. You can find your annual date at my.pmi.org/

July Meeting Recap: “Contracts 101 and COVID-19”

James Birr
In our July chapter meeting, James O. Birr, III, Esq. presented the topic"Contracts 101 and COVID-19". One interesting fact about Mr. Birr is that he played baseball at UNF and was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinalst.

Mr. Birr shared the requirements for forming a legal contract which must contain an offer, acceptance, consideration, legal capacity, legal purpose and mutual agreement. Mr. Birr also shared that Letters of Intent are not always enforced as binding contracts and are typically used as negotiating tools before creating a formal contract. Other legal terms were explained such as Impossibility of Performance and Force Majeure. During these times of COVID-19 he explained that it is critical to beware of notice provisions (termination for convenience and termination for cause).

Thank you, Mr. Birr, for sharing your expertise with contracts with our chapter members and guests!

thanks
